2008 Softball & Baseball Tournaments

The Cranberry Township Athletic Association (CTAA) is pleased to announce its Baseball and Softball tournament schedule for 2008. An open invitation is extended to all interested participants. Entries may be limited to eight (8) teams in most divisions. Divisions will be filled in the order that fees are received and processed. A Certificate of Insurance will be required as well as a letter from your league affiliation stating that the team is comprised of players that participated in your in-house league. No AAU or Club teams are permitted.

Rosters will be limited to 15 players, 1 manager, 2 coaches and 1 scorekeeper. For the 8-year old age group, one (1) additional coach as a pitcher will be permitted. Individual and team awards will be presented to the top three teams in each age group. Certified patch umpires are used in all baseball games played in the 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14 year old age groups. Certified ASA umpires are used in all softball games.

The CTAA will hold all tournament games at the Cranberry Community Park located on Route 19 in Cranberry Township. The park is located approximately 2 miles north of the Cranberry Mall (intersection of Rt. 19 & 228). The Cranberry Fire Station is located at the entrance to the park. (Click here for directions) The Cranberry Community Park includes tennis courts, playground areas, excellent ball fields and one of the finest concession stands in the area. Our concession stand offers hot sandwiches and pizza, along with assorted snack foods and beverages. Several covered pavilions are located in the park and can be used by the participants in the tournaments.

Tournament Description

• Entries may be limited to eight (8) teams in most divisions.
• All games are scheduled to be played at Cranberry Park. In the event of multiple cancellations, due to weather conditions, some makeups may be played at satellite fields.
• All baseball tournaments will be double elimination and softball tournaments may be double elimination or round robin.
• Individual and team trophies will be presented for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams.
• In some divisions participation pins will be awarded to teams not placing 1st through 3rd place.
• Baseballs and softballs will be provided.

Registration

The registration form is to be returned with the FULL FEE to obtain and hold your place in the tournament. You will be notified of your acceptance. If the bracket is full, you will be contacted to determine whether you wish your fee to be refunded or held pending an opening. If no opening is available, the full fee will be returned. Please make your checks payable to "CTAA" and return them to the appropriate tournament director.

Rosters

Teams are limited to a 15 member roster. The roster must be submitted prior to the first game and must include each player's name, address, zip code, age, and birthdate. A birth certificate proving the age of all players must always be available for verification. All tournament players must have played within the association they are representing during the regular season to qualify to participate in the tournament.

B Team Qualifications

In order to qualify as a "B" team, your team must be the second level team in a larger association (4 or more teams in the association) or the sole team from an association that has 3 or fewer teams total. Each bracket will have separate trophies. You must indicate below which level of tournament your team is applying for or your application will be returned.

A/B Qualifications (14 Year Old Tournament)

Both A and B teams will be competing in the same tournament.
